Make 2X the impact during Earth Month
| Dear Friend,
For National Geographic’s Explorers, every day is Earth Day. And this Earth Month, all gifts from Contributing Members will be matched dollar-for-dollar 2X – making twice the difference.
With your support as a Contributing Member, our Explorers illuminate our planet’s wonders. They are out in the field, working tirelessly to research and preserve critical ecosystems, organizing with local communities to promote environmental advocacy and sustainable solutions, and educating people around the world about how and why we must restore and protect our planet.
Conservationist, National Geographic Explorer, and the National Geographic Society’s first Explorer Trustee, Paula Kahumbu has dedicated her career to defending vulnerable elephant populations in Kenya, and is inspiring the next generation of conservationists and wildlife warriors. Through her work, Paula takes youth in Kenya to visit national parks and reserves throughout the country, connecting them more deeply to their environment and motivating them to protect it.
Many children in Kenya have never had the opportunity to experience the country’s national parks and reserves. Through education and outreach, Paula hosts camping expeditions each year for local youth to learn about the environment, critically vulnerable species inhabiting the parks, and the conservation efforts of scientists and communities coexisting with wildlife.
Thanks to the generosity of several anonymous donors, when you give during Earth Month, your gift will be matched 2X. That means a gift of $50 becomes $100, $100 increases to $200, and a $250 contribution doubles to $500.
I know you are inspired by the powerful storytellers, conservationists, cutting-edge scientists, and educators who make up our international Explorer community. Although we could not be prouder of what our Explorers are accomplishing, urgent challenges to our planet demand faster progress. Working together, we can act boldly to protect our planet.
Thank you, in advance, for your continued support and generosity. We will be certain to keep you posted on our progress and the work of our Explorers.
