The 2024 Slingshot Challenge is now open for submissions!
The National Geographic Society, with support from the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, is asking 13-18-year-olds to join the Slingshot Challenge and submit a 1-minute video describing their idea for solving environmental issues.
From cleaning our air to reviving our ocean, we believe that no problem is unsolvable and that great ideas come from all places.
Participating in the challenge is simple:
1. Sign up for the Slingshot Challenge — Participants will receive a toolkit and invitations to meet virtually with National Geographic Explorers who will answer questions and help with the ideation process.
2. Register on the Videos for Change platform and submit a one-minute video outlining an innovative solution to a current environmental issue by February 1, 2024.
The Society will review all submissions and a panel of experts will select a small number to receive funding of $1,000 or $10,000 to further their journey. Top award recipients will also have the opportunity to attend the Society’s iconic Explorers Festival in June 2024.
